Sky dark, autumn falls: D甫

Wind chillies and hovers below the horizon: D甫
Birds sing hopelessly, though they may be singing.

This poem was written during a time of great trouble for D甫, when he was briefly invited to a grand position at a prestigious court. He chose to remain in a private capacity as an assistant for his day. He wrote this poem at the end of his reign.
This poem reflects his hopes and fears that the British Empire would ultimately abandon him. He describes the lives of those he loved, from whom he could not escape, but his own life was increasingly difficult.
